Smoother, brighter-looking skin can change how you feel in days. When dullness, congestion and uneven texture lift away, you feel more confident going into work, meeting friends or heading out without needing to hide behind makeup.
The Obagi® Radiance Peel is designed for modern life. It is a light-to-medium salicylic acid peel that gently exfoliates dead skin cells, clears pores and supports skin renewal, with only light flaking rather than heavy peeling, so it fits around your diary, not the other way round.
Every treatment is finished with Dermalux® LED light therapy to leave skin feeling calm and comfortable, and is performed by our trained aestheticians at our Healthcare Improvement Scotland-regulated clinic.
What is the Obagi® Radiance Peel?
Developed by world-renowned dermatologist Dr Zein Obagi, this professionally formulated peel is trusted worldwide. At its hear is 20% salicylic acid, a beta hydroxy acid (BHA) that exfoliates the surface of the skin, dissolves the oil that clogs pores and helps calm the look of redness and irritation.
Unlike deeper medical peels, you only get light flaking over a few days rather than heavy peeling, making it ideal in the run-up to a special event, or as a regular part of your skin-health routine.
Benefits of the peel:
- Brighter, smoother-looking skin within days of treatment
- Helps reduce the appearance of congestion, blackheads and surface blemishes
- Refines the look of pores, uneven tone and rough texture
- Helps fade the appearance of dark spots and sun damage over a course of treatments
- Minimal downtime - gentle flaking, not full peeling
- Finished with Dermalux® LED to calm and comfort the skin
Before and After
Why choose DRVICTORIA™ Clinic for your peel?
Your results depend on more than the product. They depend on the skill of the practitioner, correct skin assessment and genuine Obagi® formulations, which we always use.
We are a medical aesthetic clinic regulated by Healthcare Improvement Scotland, so your skin is in trained, accountable hands.
What to Expect During Treatment
Consultation and skin assessment
Your aesthetician will review your skin health and confirm the treatment is right for you on the day. If not, they will recommend an alternate treatment available on the day.
Preparation and application
The skin is cleansed and prepped, then the Obagi® Radiance Peel solution is applied in one or more layers depending on your skin and goals. You may feel a light tingling or warmth - this is normal.
Dermalux® LED finish
Once the peel is neutralised, Dermalux® Red and Near-Infrared LED light is applied to leave the skin feeling calm and comfortable.
Results
Results are progressive - to achieve an outcome as shown in the before and after expect to complete a course of 3 to 6.
Is the Obagi® Radiance Peel right for me?
It's suitable for most skin types and tones. However, there are a few exceptions:
- Pregnant or breastfeeding
- Aspirin (salicylate) allergy
- Open wounds, active cold sores or active dermatitis
Your aesthetician will always review contraindications before treatment.
How should I prepare for the Obagi® Radiance Peel?
One week before: avoid laser or IPL treatments on the area.
Three days before: pause tretinoin (vitamin A), retinol, benzoyl peroxide and salicylic acid products.
Afterwards: avoid active ingredients (retinol, glycolic acid, exfoliants) for 3–5 days, keep skin well hydrated, avoid heat, saunas and intense exercise for 24–48 hours, and apply broad-spectrum SPF 50 daily to protect your fresh skin.
Will my skin actually peel? What does downtime look like?
Expect light redness immediately after treatment, most people are comfortable heading back to work the same day.
Over the following two to five days you may see gentle flaking, particularly around the nose and chin. This is a normal part of renewal, not a sign anything is wrong.
Don't pick or exfoliate flaking skin, let it lift naturally. You can wear light, non-occlusive makeup from the next day, though we recommend letting your skin breathe for the first 24 hours.
Obagi® Radiance Peel or Hydrafacial® - which is right for you?
Choose the Obagi® Radiance Peel if:
You want more noticeable resurfacing over a few days, are targeting uneven tone, texture or the appearance of dark spots, and don't mind light flaking as part of the process.
Choose Hydrafacial® if:
You want a same-day glow with no visible flaking - ideal right before an event, or if your priority is deep cleansing and hydration.
Both include a chemical peel exfoliation step, but the Obagi® Peel is stronger and can be tailored in intensity for more noticeable resurfacing. Many patients alternate the two through the year to suit their schedule and get the best of both.
