Botox® Skin Treatments

"Choose the lines you want to keep"

A combination of factors lead to the formation of facial lines and wrinkles including hormone changes, sun damage, collagen loss and muscle activity.

Repeated muscle contractions from frowning, squinting, and other facial expressions cause your skin to furrow and fold, gradually resulting in the formation of facial lines. In addition as you age some muscles can become stronger than others causing undesirable effects on the surface of your skin.

Botox® temporarily reduces the underlying muscle activity that causes these problems, to restore your facial features and help your skin look visibly smoother.

Popular concerns treated with Botox® include:

  • Frown lines
  • Crow' feet
  • Wrinkly necks
  • Droopy brows
  • Drooping mouth corners
  • Irregular bobbly chins

4 steps to get results:

Your doctor or nurse will discuss your needs and medical history to see if an injection treatment is appropriate for you. This private 30 mins expert consultation allows the creation of a tailored treatment plan or a more suitable alternative.

At your treatment your doctor or nurse will take before and after images. Go through the consent form and then accurately, safely and gently perform the treatment.

You can return to your normal activities immediately after treatment. You will start to notice a difference after 5 days, but will only see full results at 14 days.

Your complimentary review, with your doctor or nurse, is between 14-21 days to check the outcome of treatment plan has been achieved.

Is an injectable treatment painful?

An injectable treatment is administered using a very fine needle that takes just a few seconds. It’s a quick tiny prick that most patients tolerate very well. If your treatment plan requires several injections at a localised area then a topical anaesthetic cream may be applied to numb the skin.

When will I see my Botox® results?

It takes up to 14 days for Botox® to fully work. So although you may notice a difference sooner, you must wait 14 days to view the full results. Unless you requested otherwise, results for facial aesthetic treatments should be subtle, making you look refreshed. The difference will be noticeable to you as you know every inch and line of your own face, but hopefully less noticeable to others who simply see you as well-rested.

How long do Botox® results last?

Every patient responds differently to Botox® treatments, but typically standard treatment plans produce results that last 3-4 months. Result for Botox® Light procedures will last up to 2 months.

Who can have Botox®?

Botox® treatments are suitable for most men and women, but the best way to find out is to arrange a consultation. If you have any of the following contra-indications then please ask about alternate treatments: Pregnancy / breast feeding; Myasthenia gravis; Eaton lambert syndrome; Bell’s or facial palsy and Liver disease.

What side effects can occur with Botox®?

Botox® treatments have been used globally in millions of treatments and are safe and effective when administered by a healthcare professional who has the correct understanding of anatonmy. However, like all medical treatments there can be side effects. Common side effects, which resolve quickly, include tenderness or bruising or redness at injection points. Your healthcare professional will discuss all side effects with you at your consultation, so you can make an informed decision.
