I am often asked how to “solve red blotches on skin”, “clear clogged pores” or “achieve freckle removal”. So as a team we have created an all-in-one advanced IPL photofacial that addresses five concerns in 60 minutes with no downtime.
- Freckles and minor pigmentation
- Facial redness and broken capillaries
- Large, open or blocked pores
- Nose blackheads
- Uneven skin tone
Everyone wants smooth and clear skin that has a healthy skin glow. This is because your eyes are finely tuned to pick up even minor visual variations in skin tone which communicate the health and character of the person you are looking at faster than other cues. And a perception of a person’s health is closely linked to how attractive you find someone. Research even shows that sleep loss has an effect, so the term “beauty sleep” has merit!
So, how does our advanced IPL photofacial work?
Well, the facial combines an AlumierMD chemical peel and Lynton EXCELIGHT® Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) treatment in a single facial.
Step 1- Chemical Peel
The earliest recorded use of chemical peels is in ancient Egypt where Cleopatra used sour milk to improve the appearance of her skin. Lactic acid (an alpha hydroxy acid) is the active ingredient in sour milk! Things have progressed hugely in the last 2,000 years and chemical peels are a safe and popular way to solve skin discolouration and problem skin.
We use a gentle, light resurfacing AlumierMD peel, tailored to your skin type, to exfoliate your dead skin cells, clear clogged pores, nose blackheads and reduce open pores. The peel reveals smoother, more radiant skin and prepares it for step 2. This is a gentle peel for deep exfoliation, so your skin won’t actually peel afterwards and there is no downtime.
Step 2 – IPL Treatment
IPL treatments target a burst of light energy into your skin on the areas to be treated. The wavelength of the light is adjusted to target specific concerns such as broken capillaries or melanin. This light is soaked up by the broken capillaries (causing red splotches) and melanin (causing freckles and pigmentation). As a result, the melanin or broken capillaries break up and are absorbed by the skin decreasing their appearance resulting in a clearer, more even skin tone.
Results and maintenance
Some aspects of your facial will produce immediate results and other aspects will take 14 days to achieve the full outcome. You will notice a difference after a single facial, but for more sever cases of facial redness or pigmentation you may require up to 2 further facials spaced 4-6 weeks apart. To maintain your skin glow we would recommend maintenance facials every 8-12 weeks.
Who is suitable for this facial?
This facial is suitable for anyone with the listed concerns unless:
- You are pregnant
- You have open lesions or active cold sores
I love this facial as it delivers fast visible results that make an immediate difference to the confidence of my patients. To book a consultation call 0131 226 9610 or request a call back.
